David Horsburgh started life as a police officer in New Zealand specialising in intelligence gathering before moving into the private security sector. He has presented some very high-profile reports on some of the major crime and security issues in New Zealand.  David is a former winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the New Zealand OSPAs.

In this podcast David discusses his early intelligence gathering work – from learning how to pick locks and defeat alarm systems - and how this influenced legislation; how his specialist expertise has been instrumental in rethinking traditional policing/security approaches; and his hopes for a change in thinking on responding to crime.
